When it comes to primers I still haven't found the 'perfect' primer for me. My skin is combination and I have visible pores, so I want something to smooth my pores and also keep my skin soft. Usually, primers I have tried are too oily or don't make a smooth even base. I have wanted to try Farsali Unicorn Essence which moisturises and primes the skin, but for me, the price point is a bit high. I decided to look out for a budget-friendly dupe that could possibly be similar to the Unicorn essence.
I found this W7 Princess Potion Face Primer Drops purely by chance while shopping for some cleaning things with my mum in B&M's and this was under £5 if I remember correctly. The bottle looks very similar and the primer drops are also a sparkly pink like unicorn essence.
The W7 Princess Potion Face Primer Drops has an easy to use droplet pipette thing ( totally forgot the name lol). The formulation is perfect; not too runny or thick. It is a lovely pink shimmery primer that looks a bit like a serum, just a touch thicker than many serums I have tried.
I find the primer absorbs quickly into the skin, which is a good thing if you're in a rush to apply makeup. It also is a complexion booster so you can wear this alone for radiant skin or underneath foundation for the perfect base.
The serum is blended with skin-loving hyaluronic acid, rosehip oil, sweet almond oil, aloe, argan oil, grape leaf and chamomille. All of which my skin loves to keep it feeling soft and smooth for makeup-free days or a base for my foundation.
I am not 100% sure if the formula is vegan? But the company itself is cruelty-free. 🐇
I really like this primer, it smooths my skin nicely and gives a nice glowy boost to my complexion but I like using it most before applying my foundation as it really helps keep it in place as it gives a nice smooth base. It has a sweet floral scent which is quite nice and not overpowering at all. A good thing about it is the fragrance didn't irritate my skin at all, so it's definitely up there with one of Meli's go-to products when it comes to primers because having irritated skin because of skincare is no fun at all.
I like to use this after I have cleansed, toned, used a serum/oil then I apply this then my SPF :)
So your probably all wondering whether I still want the Farsali Unicron Essence and the answer is no, thankfully. Its too expensive even though I am sure many love it, I can't justify the price. I am happy with my dupe at just under £10 at a very reasonable £8.95. It works well for me so I will keep that until its finished and then try another haha.
