February Beauty Favourites

February Beauty Favourites
You know something, it totally slipped my mind to post my January beauty favourites... whoops. I honestly do feel like the start of 2019 has been quite quick. The last beauty post was my 2018 Makeup favourites so it's about time I made an update and share with you all my February favourites seeing as its now the end of the month... already!

In February I used many of the favourites that I bought in my first beauty bay purchases. All of them feature in these posts, each of them is amazing in their own way. While the others are either from beauty boxes or something I had a while but started to use again.
February Beauty Favourites
My February Beauty Favourites

BH Cosmetics Zodiac Love Signs 25 Color Eyeshadow and Highlight Palette
This is a collection of 24 eyeshadows and one highlighter. It has 12 creamy mattes and 12 baked shimmers and a luminous highlighter. I love that they blend beautifully together and my goodness they are super pigmented too. My favourites have to be 'Leo', 'Gemini' and Capricorn'.

Kat Von D 'Metal Crush' Extreme Highlighter in Gamma Ray
This is a high impact highlighter that has lots of shimmer and glitter, it looks lovely on nice sunny days especially. Gamma Ray is a rose gold shade and I think I suit it the most out of all my highlighters.

Pixi by Petra PixiGlow Cakes in GildedBare
This is an ombre highlighter/bronzer/blush and my goodness is blooming huge! I love to use this as a delicate bronzer/contour on days I don't want to wear too much makeup. It not only adds a lovely contour but a nice subtle highlight too.

Smashbox Photo Finish Smooth and Blur Primer
I must admit when I first got this in my Birchbox back in December it just sat there for a while till mid-January, which was silly because it is amazing! This is the first time I have tried anything from Smashbox and I am in love- it has a lovely silky finish and you don't need much to cover the entire face. This is only a  sample size but I must have used it at least 7 times already and I have just over half left. This leaves a flawless base for me to apply my foundation.

Hank & Henry Lip Lustre Gloss in Orale
This lip lustre is a subtle pink lipstick shimmer and my goodness its just gorgeous! It has a lovely peppermint smell which is also a little bit tingly on the lips. It has so much sparkle too, the most dimensional I have seen in a lipgloss so far. The applicator is doe footed too which gives the right amount of product.

Jeffree Star Cosmetics Summer 2018 Collection Velour Liquid Lipstick In Coral Fixation
I am a big fan of Jeffree Star products ( my current favourite has to be the blood sugar palette ) This lipstick is bright neon orange and I really wasn't sure I would suit the bright neon but I just love it. I love the formulation of the lipsticks as they last a long time and they are also pigmented too. I really want to add more to my collection.

Lush Don't Look At Me Fresh Face Mask | Review

Lush Don't Look At Me Fresh Face Mask | Review
Face Masks are one of my favourite things to use when I am unwinding and having a bit of self-care day. I usually use a face mask every 4-7 days depending on how I feel but I love how refreshed and moisturised my skin is after. When it comes to choosing which brand to go for Lush is easily up there with my favourites that's for sure.

Before we get started I have to mention I have used this face mask before a couple of years ago and I loved it and thought it would be good to share my experience with it. You may be wondering if I loved it so much then why haven't I bought it more regular but to be honest I love trying a variety
Lush Don't Look At Me Fresh Face Mask | Review
Packaging
This has the signature lush container as other skin care products such as other fresh face mask, moisturisers and scrubs. It contains 75g of product and has a screw top lid which is easy to open and shut without a lot of effort.

Scent
Now I can't decide if I love or hate the smell of this but I can tell you damn, this face mask is hella zesty! Its key ingredients are as follows.
πŸ‹Fresh Organic Lemon Juice - Cleansing and astringent
πŸ‹Murumuru Butter - Protective and moisturising
πŸ‹Grapefruit Oil - Uplifting and Refreshing
πŸ‹Organic Silken Tofu - Moisturising

How to use
I would suggest using either a face mask brush but if you don't have one of them do what I do which is use a concealer or foundation brush. Using a brush saves a lot of time a gets into hard to reach places without getting your hands messing.

Apply a generous amount to the face and avoid the eye are ( eye skin is thinner and needs products specifically for eyes). Once you apply to the skin you will notice how exfoliating it is on the skin as it contains ground rice, it also has a very strong zesty smell which is like marmite, your either gonna love it or hate it LOL. It says to leave on the skin for 10-15 minutes and in that time it starts to dry a little like clay.

Washing it off after the 15 minutes was soooo easy and quite nice actually. Once you apply water to it it goes like a soft buttery texture and melts off the skin and once you do you can feel the difference from using the mask, it's just lovely.

Lush Don't Look At Me Fresh Face Mask | Review
Don't Look At Me is still one of my favourite exfoliating face masks, you can feel it working as soon as you apply it to the skin. The smell may not be my favourite but the fact its a fun blue and it works wonders on my combination skin without irritating it makes me a happy bunny. I would say in the entire tub you could probably get 4 different applications from it which I think a bargain considering a tub costs £8.50.  I would definatly repurchase this in the future ( much sooner than I did before though LOL)

Lush Love Token Reusable Bubble Bar | Review

Lush Love Token Reusable Bubble Bar | Review

Is it me or is it so futuristic saying 2019? Lol! I honestly don't know how the time flies like that but here we are. Anyways Lush have been absolutely amazing this year with their fabulous Valentine's Day Collection! Now the designs may be on point but what about the products... hmm we will see how they fair. So far I have tried Aubergine and Six and they have been spot on. So now its the turn of the Love Token Reusable Bubble Bar.

Anyways onto the post shall we?
Design
I cannot fault the design at all, in fact, it is just perfection! They remind me of Gringott's Bank Coins from the Harry Potter movies. It is the size of the palm of my hand and has the words love token wrote on the front of the bubble bar, it is also very sparkly... it will go on your hands for sure.

Scent
Now the scent of this is something I am not so sure of... I can't say I am a huge fan of it, to be honest. Its key ingredients are 'Ginger Oil', 'Pine Needle Absolute', 'Clove Bud Oil' and 'Guaiacwood Oil'. It really wasn't as spicy as I was hoping and for me, the pine needle absolute was quite overpowering compared to the other ingredients.

In the Bath
Since its a reusable bubble bar you can break it into bits by either snapping it in half or quarters. I was a little lazy this time and just snapped it in half for each bath I used it in.

It is quite hard for a bubble bar ( well compared to other bubble bars I have tried in the past and my goodness I have tried many!) The first time I used it in the bath it was a blooming nightmare, to be honest, it barely melted underwater and the bits that did were all chunky in the water so I had to pick them up to crush them more under the water. The second time I crushed it completely and it worked so much better that time.

Once I used it the second time it gave a decent amount of bubbles as you can see below in the photo. The smell wasn't something I was wowed by. I was expecting more spice but the overpowering smell of pine needles took over. The amount of glitter was nice and not OTT which was good.

It was a relaxing bath as the water was soft and felt nice on the skin too. I wouldn't say it was the best but it was OK.

Cruelty-free and Vegan-Friendly  πŸ°

List of ingredients

Sodium Carbonate Cream of Tartar Sodium Laureth Sulfate Glycerine Lauryl Betaine Perfume Ginger Oil Pine Needle Absolute Clove Bud Oil Guaiacwood Oil Gardenia Extract Titanium Dioxide Synthetic Fluorphlogopite Tin Oxide Silica Benzyl Alcohol *Benzyl Benzoate Cinnamal *Citral *Eugenol *Limonene *Linalool Colour 19140:1 Colour 77491 Colour 19140 Colour 15510
I love the design of this bubble bar but for me, I wouldn't repurchase it again because for me personally Im not a big fan of the scent of it. It is a decent size and can be used up to 4 times and for £4.95 it is not the most expensive thing in Lush ( blooming heck its getting expensive in lush isn't it omg)

I am sorry to say I won't be repurchasing this but I did love the design and the sparkles were lovely too!

Triyit Discovery Club | January 2019 - Unboxing and Review

Triyit Discovery Club | January 2019 - Unboxing and Review
I was so excited when I got matched with another Triyit Discovery Club box! The last box I got was a pretty epic which had lots of Beauty Kitchen goodies inside it. The clues of this box were little hints that they were going to be food and drink inspired so you can imagine how excited I was to actually find out what I was going to get this time.

From the time I got matched with the campaign, filled a small survey etc I was sent the box quite promptly and it came within a week of being matched with the box, which I think is pretty darn fast don't you think? Opening the box is like Christmas all over again haha
Triyit Discovery Club | January 2019 - Unboxing and Review
So what was inside the box you ask?
Graze Superfood Bites in Cocoa Orange
I had mine after going to the gym as a little pick me up since its under 150 calories. I really liked the flavour combination and texture! I would definitely like to get the multipack version of this.
Rating: 4/5
Nix & Kix Mango Mango and Ginger
These come in a few flavours such as peach and vanilla and also cucumber and mint. I would suggest trying these ice cold and poured into a glass with ice cubes! I really think they would go so well with gin and wish it was the way I tried mine. The flavour is a very delicate mango and ginger flavour with a little hint of chilli.
Rating: 4/5
Tenzing Natural Energy Drink
I love the fact that this drink is natural, it is packed with hydrating Himalayan salt, antioxidant Indian gooseberries and energising guarana. For me, the flavour in this was a little lacking but maybe that's just my fault as I expect flavours such as the ones you get from the monster and red bull drinks! I defiantly think after a couple of these I could adapt to the cleaner taste.
Rating: 3.5 / 5
Vita Coco Coconut Water 500ml
I must admit I am not the biggest fan of coconut and when I do have coconut water I tend to mix it with a smoothie because I am not the biggest advocate for the taste and texture. I wish I could say I was a fan of this but for me, I wasn't a huge fan, unfortunately.
Rating 2/5
Triyit Discovery Club | January 2019 - Unboxing and Review
Well and Truly in Smokey Paprika
The first thing I noticed about these is that they look very similar to Nik naks! Well and Truly make a variety of snacks in different flavours but not only that but they are 40% than the usual crisps. I do love the smokey paprika flavour but I did find that some of the crisps were very hard and not easy to eat. I would love to try them again in the furture.
Rating: 4 / 5
Triyit Discovery Club | January 2019 - Unboxing and Review
I really enjoyed the box this time and it was a nice change from the beauty products I usually get. I can't say I am a big fan of everything in the box but I am very happy to have tried them at least. I really loved the 'Well and Truly' crisps the most because the flavour for me was just spot on.

Would I say its as good as the Beauty Kitchen Triyit box? unfortunately not but it was a great box to try out new things. If you want to subscribe to get your own free Triyit box check out their website just below for more info on how to do that.

I absolutely adore Nails Inc varnishes as they have so many to choose from and they are long lasting and super glossy. I will be using this later on for sure as part of my valentines day pamper evening!!

This is formulated with nourishing vitamins and it moisturises and hydrates dry skin for a healthy glow. Simply apply for 20 minutes and after that time remove the mask and pat the excess moisture into the skin. I will be having a mini pamper evening tonight so will see how well this mask fairs.

Mugler Alien Fusion Parfum AND Alien Man Fusion
Extra Treats
So Glossybox has been super kind and sent over 2 sample fragrances to try! One for me and one for someone special.... so that would be me too right?! I love wearing Alien perfumes, they are my ultimate favourite so getting these is just brilliant, I am going to keep one handy in my handbag.
GLOSSYBOX FEBRUARY 2019 UNBOXING! | REVIEW
My Thoughts
What an amazing box! I love it. So far it has to be my favourite box of the year ( well its only February you say? I know LOL!) My favourite product in this months box has to be the Luxie Beauty contour brush as I love applying a contour into my makeup look. I also have to add I love the Nails Inc varnish, as the red is something I love wearing, its vamp and perfect!

I don't dislike anything the box and everything will definitely be used, which is a relief because it's not brilliant when you get stuff that you don't like or use.

The Body Shop Hemp Hand Protector | Review

I really need a good hand cream any time of the year but even more so in the winter months because in the winter months my hands can get extremely dry if I don't use a hand cream for a few days. My hands get very dry skin and especially between my fingers the skin can crack and get very sore so you can imagine, I try my best to keep my skin hydrated all year round and avoid the dreaded dry and cracked hands. That is where The Body Shop's Hemp Hand Protector comes in!

The Body Shop is a hugely popular high street store that also has a huge online shop too. They have a variety of products including skincare, haircare and fragrances. One of the good things about The Body Shop is they are cruelty-free and all of the products are vegetarian-friendly ( many are vegan now too) One of my favourite products from them has to be the British Rose Fresh Face Mask, it is very refreshing on the skin and smells lovely too.
The Body Shop Hemp Hand Protector | Review
 Packaging
These can come in 2 sizes and both of the designs are completely different. I bought the larger version as I think its better value for money and will last. The design is fabulous with leaves and hemp design, it sure stands out in the shop. The tube itself is quite thick and the top is a screw top so be careful not to drop it because it can be quite tricky.

Texture
The hand cream is very thick and takes a little bit of pressure on top of the tube to make the product come out. The good thing though is that because it is such a thick cream you don't need much to go a long way. The size of a peanut is enough to cover both of my hands.

Scent/Fragrance
Hemp has a very herbal scent and for me for it smells a little spicy too. It is a very refreshing smell and I just love it. I really want to get the body butter version of this too.

What does it claim to do?
This heavy duty hand protector adds hydration for very dry skin ( hello to my very dry hands). It is one of their best selling products and it's not hard to see why. It is enriched with community hemp seed oil from France. Not only does it relive and hydrate the hands it also protects them from too.
The Body Shop Hemp Hand Protector | Review
How to use
As I said above you need to give it a bit of welly to get the product out because it's so darn thick but once its out you basically only need a peanut amount of product to cover both hands. Since the product is thick it takes a minute to melt gently into the skin but it is well worth it for the results right?

I only do this once a day before I go to bed and it seems to be working wonders on my hands keeping them super soft. If I feel like my skin is going to be very dry I just throw it in my handbag.

My thoughts
Out of all the hand creams, I have tried ( and I have tried a lot of them) this one has to be my ultimate favourite! It has a lovely herbal smell that is long lasting and it also keeps your hands relieved and hydrated all day long.

My skin on my hands it a lot softer using this and is my go to hand cream for everyday use. I will definitely be getting more Hemp products from the body shop because I love the smell and also how hydrating the products are.

Lush Aubergine Bath Bomb | Review

I have to say Lush have got it on point with their Valentine's Day Collection this year! I just love it. The collection has a lot of newcomers ( including aubergine) as well as 'Peachy' and 'The Big Banana". I only bought 3 of the products so far but I really want to try more in the collection before they disappear from lush after valentines day. I do think they are a slight cheeky naughty aspect to the valentines collection this year with the emoji-inspired peach, aubergine and not forgetting those six bubble bars πŸ˜‰

Anyways let us get on with the post, shall we?
Design
Its definitely inspired by the emoji aubergine and my goodness it sure looks cheeky but it looks quite fun too. It has to be one of the best designed Lush bath bombs right?

Scent
Now I have looked at the ingredients and I was quite surprised as 3 of the main things in this are 'Fresh Aubergine', 'Bergamount Oil' and 'Tonka Absolute'. Now I have got to admit I am very impressed they actually have fresh aubergine in the aubergine LOL! Its brilliant don't you think?

Anyways as I said above the 3 main ingredients but for me, it was sweeter and I honestly thought it smelt a little bit like violet. The smell gets more intense once it starts to foam in the water too.

In the Bath
Once Aubergine hit the water it started foaming and the foam itself was very soft and almost felt like velvet. It had to be one of the longest bath bombs to completely melt but it was impressive the display it gave. It burst into a lovely display of lilac and green and a few moments after once it started to melt a little bit more they were an electric blue in the middle which added more heightened drama to the bath as you can see in the photo.

Once it was completely melted my bath was a gorgeous deep purple with lots of sparkles, it looked amazing. The bath water felt lovely and silky too which was relaxing along with the lovely fragrance of the bath bomb itself. I really didn't want out the bath after this because it was just heavenly.

Cruelty-free and Vegan-Friendly  πŸ°

List of ingredients
Sodium Bicarbonate Citric Acid Bergamot Oil Ho Wood Oil Litsea Cubeba Oil Tonka Absolute Fresh Aubergine Cream of Tartar Water (Aqua) Titanium Dioxide Sodium Coco Sulfate Propylene Glycol Synthetic Fluorphlogopite Tin Oxide Cocamidopropyl Betaine Alpha-Isomethyl Ionone Benzyl Alcohol Butylphenyl Methylpropional *Citral Coumarin Hydroxycitronellal *Limonene *Linalool Perfume Colour 77491 Colour 15850:1 Colour 45410:1 Colour 42090:1 Colour 42090 Colour 17200 Colour 42090:2 Colour 19140

My thoughts
I just think its an amazingly fun design and I think just for that it's worth buying again before it disappears off the shelves! I really hope they bring it back next year because I am a little disappointed they didn't bring back Titsy Totsy ( it was a heart shaped bath bomb that had rosebuds and had a lovely fresh rose smell)

The smell of this is just amplified once in the bath and the smell is just relaxing and the bath water feels silky, its just one of my favourite bath bombs yet.

I can't wait to try out more of the Valentine's Day collection

Cosmopolitan x Pink Parcel Review | February

Cosmopolitan x Pink Parcel Review | February
It has been a while since I posted about the subscription box 'Pink Parcel' because I have a few issues with the past boxes I had been sent which I will talk about at the end of the post. The last Pink Parcel post was a few months back in October and that's when I started to notice a few hiccups. I decided to do one more post since I have decided to cancel the subscription just before I got this box. So the Cosmopolitan is the last box but thankfully it is a decent box.

Pink Parcel is a monthly period inspired subscription box that sends you all the products you need for your period and also some extras to make your period a little easier. Each box costs less than £11 a month and could contain the any of the following; luxe curations of cult beauty brands, herbal tea, artisan chocolate, seasonal surprises and the obvious such as the pads, tampons or a mixture of both.
Cosmopolitan x Pink Parcel Review | February
What is in Februarys Box?
Like the past few months, they had no leaflet explaining about the products you receive in the box which for me is a shame because I like to learn more about products. I know it saves paper but even info on their website or an email would have of been helpful you know?

Marvis Cinnamon Mint Toothpaste ( Travel Size )
This is a luxury toothpaste brand and they have a variety of toothpaste flavours including Jasmine Mint and Ginger Mint. The cinnamon is definitely something new I have tried with toothpaste but after a few times I got used to trying it (it is quite strong!) I enjoy using this every day right now and I am glad to have got it in this months box, I really want to get the Jasmine flavour next time.

Oryza Beauty Lipstick ( Full Size )
Oh, no... I honestly can't say I am 100% happy with this lipstick as I got it in a previous beauty box a month or so ago. I really think it feels cheap for the price (£15.95!) Not only that, it smells really bad too which is offputting. Its a shame but I would try more from the brand.

Soaper Duper Fruity Green Tuberose Body Lotion ( Full Size )
This has to be the best thing in the box for me! I just love the name of the brand and the product is 98% natural and smells lovely too like pineapples and a mixture of fruit. The body lotion has smoothing pineapple fruit acids, hydrating aloe vera juice and nourishing shea butter. I have used it a few times already and so far so good.
Cosmopolitan x Pink Parcel Review | February
Continued...

Dr Lipp Original Nipple Balm ( Sample Size )
The nipple balm is actually multi-use so it can be used on the lips and apparently to the packaging has a hundred uses. It is 100% natural and fragrance-free, it can reduce skin roughness by 40% in just one hour! Has so many uses that I will have to give them all a whirl.

Chocolate and Love in Madagascar and Panama ( Sample Sizes )
These are the perfect bite size amounts and these chocolates are just divine! I have tried this brand before and my favourite has to be the sea salt, just lovely.

Purechimp Tumeric Matcha Green Tea ( Sample Size)
This sachet has a generous amount of matcha and can make 2 cups of matcha. I love matcha as its more potent than green tea and that means the benefits of green tea but better. This matcha has turmeric, cinnamon and ginger so it's a nice little twist, I can't wait to pour myself a cup.

Vitamasques Diamond Gold Mask ( Full Size )
This mask is actually made with real gold and diamonds ( dunno whether to keep it or sell it, LOL I am kidding) Anyways this mask apparently moisture content absorbs into the skin faster ( I hope so because some take ages, am I right?) The goal of this mask is to hydrate and brighten the skin. I will be trying this on a relaxing evening that's for sure.
Cosmopolitan x Pink Parcel Review | February
My thoughts
I did think this months box is a vast improvement and the products inside were all pretty much great, well apart from the lipstick but that's just my preference. I kinda wished saw this box before cancelling my subscription because this box is very impressive and a definate pick me up when I feel rubbish and sore on my period. I will never say never about getting this box again in the futrue but the past couple of months were a bit on the meh side to say the least.

My last box was opened and the box was battered which for me was a little unprofessional to say the least. Not just that the products were not brilliant either. The months before that the boxes were always late so I had to buy my pads to make sure I had them. Its a shame but I have seen pink parcel has improved over the last month or so and I really do wish them well.
