Charlotte Tillbury Magic Cream Review: Is It Worth The Price?

Charlotte Tillbury Magic Cream Review: Is It Worth The Price?
Charlotte Tilbury is a makeup brand I have loved for years, the price point of some things makes me gasp a little bit but sometimes a little splurge is nice to have as a treat. Charlotte Tilbury Magic Cream was recommended to me by a makeup artist in one of their stores in Glasgow. She recommended it as a multi-purpose cream, so I thought, what have I lost?

Charlotte Tilbury was founded by the name of the brand. She is a celebrity makeup artist whose expertise has brought out many products of her own, including this famous Magic Cream.

So read on the post to check out my thoughts on the expensive Magic Cream? ( Spoiler alert, I love it but I am not sure about the price point)

Charlotte Tilbury Magic Cream review

Pros

  • Multi-Purpose - Primer, Moisturizer
  • Makeup lasts longer
  • Makes skin luminous
  • Reduces the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines
  • Smooths the skin]
  • Enriched with ingredients such as peptides, hyaluronic acid and aloe vera
  • Some sizes are refillable

Cons

  • The price ( starts at £28 for 15ml!)
  • Adding too much can make results a little patchy. blending completely is important

So what is Charlotte Tilbury Magic Cream?

In simple terms, it's a moisturiser but works best as a makeup primer. It was invented to help keep makeup on models for longer during catwalk shows.

Described on the Charlotte Tilbury website as follows...
· CUSHION & LIFT MESH TECHNOLOGY: a 4% blend of Rosehip Oil which is rich in antioxidant Vitamin F plus skin-cushioning emollients + Oat Extract which is rich in alpha-glucans. Together they soften and smooth the feel of skin and lift the look of facial contours, creating the perfect base for makeup. This technology has been my best-kept secret in my world-famous magic cream, until now! · VITAMIN C & E: to brighten + even the look of skin. · PLUMP EFFECT PEPTIDE COMPLEX: to smooth + plump the look of skin and reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. · HYALURONIC ACID: to keep skin hydrated for up to 24 hours. · ALOE VERA: to help calm, smooth and moisturise the look of skin · FRANGIPANI FLOWER EXTRACT: combines moisturising benefits with a delicate, calming scent. · CAMELLIA OIL: moisturises for a dewy-looking complexion. · SHEA BUTTER: nourishes and softens the skin.

Charlotte Tillbury Magic Cream Review: Is It Worth The Price?

How to Use Magic Cream

You can use it by itself but I like to use it as a makeup primer considering the price point. I apply this all over my face and let it dry before applying my makeup as usual.

How much is it?

There are various sizes to choose from and prices start at £28 for 15ml all the way up to a jaw-dropping £150 for 150ml.

My final thoughts

I love Charlotte Tilbury Magic Cream! Unfortunately, mine got stolen with most of my makeup, on the bus home from London ( still no compensation or anything from the bus company!)

I love the jar the cream comes in, it screams luxury which is a good thing! The cream itself works so well at making the skin look more youthful and glowy. As for makeup lasting longer? It sure ticks that off the list. It's the best primer I have ever used ( *cries* I miss it) my makeup always looked flawless using this.

As for repurchasing? Nah I can't just yet, I can't justify it. The price point is too much for my pocket right now. The reason I bought this, was because it was an Eid gift to myself.

  5. That's so bad that yours was stolen, sorry to hear that. I bought a set which included this and the night cream and serum from Bicester Village as a way to try it, but I agree I don't think I could justify the price of the full sized one x
