The Vegan Kind June 2019 | Review
have made a fair few changes to my lifestyle to make sure all my cosmetics are cruelty-free, products are more eco-friendly and also looking at more subscription boxes that are 100% cruelty-free and vegan. I used to buy Glossybox but I had to cancel that because of they no certainty that the boxes are veggie friendly or even cruelty-free for that matter.

The vegan kind is a vegan-friendly subscription box service that has a lifestyle subscription box that comes out every month and also a beauty box that comes out every other month. I have chosen both to give a try. This one in this post is the Lifestyle box which prices start at £8 a month plus P&P.
In each months box, they are between 6-7 products. They are a variety of delicious products and also a lifestyle product oo. Each box also contains a delicious vegan recipe card and if that wasn't enough 10p from every box sold goes to the chosen animal charity of the month

Let see whats in Junes 'The Vegan Kind' box, shall we?
The Vegan Kind June 2019 | Review
1. Mister Free'd Cheese Flavour Tortilla Chips 135g (RRP £1.99)
These are gluten-free tortilla chips and omg they are so damn delicious! If you missed cheese Doritos before nevermind because these taste amazing, if not better ( even more so with hot salsa)!
2. Harmonica Coconut Crispy Chocolate Coated Wafer 40g ( RRP £1.40)
Now, who doesn't love a wafer with tea? I know I love it so I was excited to try this. This bar is bloody huge, so it's great to share, break in half for a couple of days or be like me and enjoy all at once hahaha. I am not really a fan of coconut so will give this to my friend.
3.Mighty Seeds Coconut Sugar Caramelised Watermelon Seeds 25g ( RRP £0.99)
I never knew watermelon seeds could be eaten ( probably sounds daft I know) These are caramelised and the whole packet is packed with 8g of protein, yep I was shocked when I read that too. They are less than 150 calories a packet too, can't wait to eat them.

June Beauty Favourites

June Beauty Favourites
June has been one whirlwind of seasons, one day it's so hot you only need your summer clothes, the next it's like winter all over again... June make your mind up! The weather may be unsure what it wants but I am definitely sure on which are my favourite beauty products this month.

May's Beauty Favourites was very much skincare orientated but this month its a blend of beauty and skincare. Some old favourites mixed with new ones. All of my favourites are cruelty-free

Let's get on with the post, shall we?
June Beauty Favourites
My June Beauty Favourites.

Cruelty-Free and Vegan-Friendly
This was my first Jeffree Star palette ( and only palette as they are pretty expensive). I use this palette most days whether my makeup is more glam or just for everyday use. It is a very warm palette but it has a lot of neutrals which I love. It may be on the expensive side at £46 on beauty bay but for 18 shades that are all amazing, I think the price can be justified.

Cruelty-Free and Vegan-friendly
When it comes to facial serums I find it hard to find one right for my combination skin as many I have tried before have been irritating to my skin and even broke my skin out into spots, especially around the nose area. This Pixi glow tonic serum has to be my all time favourite! I use it every other day before my night cream and it works marvellously for me.

Barry M Chisel Cheeks Contour Cream Kit
Cruelty-Free and Vegan-Friendly
I have never tried a cream contour kit before so this was a first for me! I was pleasantly surprised by this palette as it is so creamy and easy to blend, so straightforward to create a subtle or more defined contour. It is also a handy palette as it has a decent mirror inside which is great for travel. This palette is super budget friendly too at just £7.99!

Avant Pro-Perfecting Collagen Primer Touche Eclat
Cruelty-Free ( I think it's Vegan, can't see anything in the ingredients, I would definitely check the ingredients if you are unsure)
This is a silky and lightweight primer that creates the perfect base for makeup and also prolongs the wear of it too. One the skin its very cooling and it dries pretty fast to put on makeup.

NYX Worth the Hype Volumising & Lengthening Mascara
Cruelty-Free
I have seen a lot of ... pardon the pun but HYPE on the internet about this mascara. I had to buy it myself to see if it was worth the hype and damn it sure is. Not only does this mascara volumise and lengthen the lashes but its also lasting and non-drying or flaky! Its the perfect mascara!

Lush Pirates of the Carrageenan | Review

Lush Pirates of the Carrageenan | Review
It has been ages since my last Lush blog post ( the last one being Iris Flower Bath bomb - which I loved by the way) This blog post has been long overdue so its time to write a few reviews on some bath bombs I have tried from Lush recently.

I bought this bath bomb mainly because it reminds me of one of my favourite films ever ... Pirates of the Caribbean. This bath bomb is part of many new bath bombs added to Lush online and in-stores.

Anyways let us get on with the post, shall we?

Lush Pirates of the Carrageenan Review
Ingredients

Sodium Bicarbonate Citric Acid Carrageenan Extract Kombu Powder Patchouli Oil Petitgrain Oil Pimento Berry Oil Sandalwood Oil Ginger Oil Cream of Tartar Water (Aqua) Titanium Dioxide Synthetic Fluorphlogopite Sodium Coco-Sulfate Tin Oxide Dipropylene Glycol Cocamidopropyl Betaine Alpha-Isomethyl Ionone *Eugenol *Limonene *Linalool Perfume Colour 47005 Colour 77491 Colour 42053 Colour 59040

Cruelty-free & Vegan-Friendly 🐇

Design
This is in shape of a treasure chest which has a skull and crossbones on top of the chest. The colour of the bath bomb is like a lovely seaweed green with a blend of gold.

Scent
The first thing I noticed with this bath bomb is that it smells fresh and earthy. Key ingredients in this are; Carrageenan Extract, Petitgrain Oil, Sandalwood Oil and Ginger Oil

In the Bath
I had this for a few weeks before deciding to use this bath bomb because it looked amazing in my storage basket in my bathroom LOL!

Putting it in the bath the green and gold mixed together and made the most luscious green I have ever seen before, it was so bright and beautiful omg. Now not only was it a lovely green but they were also carrageenan extract in the bath water too ( Irish moss seaweed)

Once in the bathtub, the bath bomb melted a layer of green to reveal a treasure inspired yellow inside which I think added a bit of quirkiness. -

As I said above the smell was very earthy and fresh. The scent I could smell the most was the sandalwood, it's really amazing this bath bomb and it has become one of my favourites because it smells nice, has amazing bath art and looks pretty cool too.
Lush Pirates of the Carrageenan | Review
I just love this bath bomb. Firstly it's my favourite colour... green. It has the most amazing fragrance blend that I have smelt in a while in Lush. The design isn't the typical round bath bomb shape and a quite funky treasure chest shape which for me adds a bit of charm.

Now, this is part of collection of a far few new bath bombs from Lush. I have no idea how long these will stay but I will definitely have a wee restock of this because of its one of my favourites now.

Since it has a little bit of seaweed in it, its best to rinse the bath after the water has drained otherwise could stick to the bath which would be a pain to remove.

Until next time

May Fitness Update | 5lbs down!

healthy dessert
So last month I decided to get myself back into healthier eating habits and a fitness routine. I have many reasons for wanting to lose weight but the biggest one was my clothes were getting tighter and another reason being I had no idea how many calories I was actually eating.  I do know it was a lot because this lass loves her snacks and takeaways...yum!. I am not saying eating takeaways and snacks are wrong but with me, it was more often than not and sometimes without thinking, it was more like a habit than anything.

I didn't actually do intense exercise last month but I did up the amount of walking I did and also added my fitness app on my phone to track my walking and also to measure the actual exercise I did at home such as cleaning.  I also rejoined the gym and have been already, can't wait to go again.

With just healthier eating and walking more I have managed to lose 5lbs which I am so happy with! I am happy I am keeping motivated.
graze light snacks
I love snacks -woohoo( who doesn't?) I decided to get inspiration on which snacks to get off muscle food and also on Graze too. I decided to get myself a few snacks off Muscle Food and also a subscription of a Graze lightbox too.

As for walking, I like to track the number of steps a day I do with my phone! It keeps me on track. My Fitness app is brilliant for tracking my food that I eat. I rejoined the gym and I am looking forward to everything including cardio.

Favourite foods in May
  •  Porridge - DAMN this is so versatile on what you can put in it! My favourite is strawberries.
  • Graze Chocolate Pretzel Dippers - These are just heavenly! They are dipping chocolate with pretzel dippers! They are also under 150 calories!
  • Fruits with 0% yoghurt - I love adding combinations of fruit with yoghurt. My favourites are strawberries and pineapple.

porridge
I also had a cheat meal recently at Nandos and OMG it was just heavenly! I enjoyed every mouthful, even though every mouthful hurt because I have a gum infection at the moment...ouch! I got the hummus with pitta and also the grilled chicken pita wrap with the macho peas - delicious!

I want to keep this all up for June! I will be going to the gym more in June and I will also be looking out for challenges to do as well. I am looking forward to continuing my fitness journey.

Take care

Healthier Snacking with Roughs

Healthier Snacking with Roughs
I have started to exercise more and think more about what I eat. I could easily before end up eating way more than I thought because of snacking on too many not so healthy snacks. I am a huge fan of snacking so changing up that routine to more wholesome AND delicious choices has been a journey in itself. Saying all that it is been fun finding healthier alternatives and also trying new foods that I probably wouldn't of before.

Satisfied Snacks kindly sent me 3 cans of their salad crisps called 'Roughs' to try out. Now you may be wondering why on earth are these in cans... well wonder no more. They put their salad crisps in cans because they have put their foot down and said no to plastics and used cans instead which are widely and infinitely recycled.

They have 5 delicious flavours to choose from, all of which are under 100 calories. Each can have at least 1 serving of vegetables, which is great at contributing to your 5 a day. They are also made out of 100% natural ingredients, no nasties.
Healthier Snacking with Roughs
 'Roughs' Flavours

  • Red Pepper & Walnut (70 Calories) Vegan-Friendly - Made with red pepper, walnuts and other vegetables with some cumin and subtle seasoning. This has a lovely peppery taste and I love to dip this in tomato soup, yum!
  • Tomato and Feta  (75 Calories)  - Simply made with Tomato and feta with a sprinkle of basil, red onion and light seasoning. This was my favourite out of the bunch.
  • Beetroot and Goats Cheese (97 Calories) - Made with more than 50% beetroot and complimented with goats cheese and a little kick with some chilli flakes. This was the stronger tasting of the bunch but a nice way of eating beetroot.
  • Carrot and Kimchi (50 Calories) Vegan-Friendly  - A lovely blend of carrot, kimchi and blend of shiitake mushrooms. Really need to try this one next time as I just love carrots
  • Pea and Courgette (50 Calories) Vegan-Friendly - This one has a sweet and mild taste of pea and courgette with a counterbalanced of lemon juice. These also sound lush dont they?

Healthier Snacking with Roughs
I love the concept of eating crispy salad in a tin, its different for sure but I do like that. Everything is clearly labelled and finding all the ingredients and things like that is easy to find. They dont have many ingredients, just natural yummy ones. If you want to see the ingredients they are pretty easy to find on their website.

Each can have a generous 20g of vegetable crisps inside and it looks way more than you would think. The picture above is what they roughly look like, they can be long or short shapes.

They are lovely and crispy which is a nice surprise. They are quite tasty with the combinations they have. They can take a little getting used to if you're not a fan of salad but I think they taste very nice, especially when paired up with something else like soups, hummus or salsa.

How much are they? They cost £5.37 for 3 tins.
Where can I find out more? Check out their website for more https://satisfiedsnacks.co.uk
