Handsome Jacks Barber - Glasgow | Review

Handsome Jacks Barber Glasgow
As you may of all noticed a couple of months ago over on my social media that I decided to get my shoulder-length hair cut into a short pixie cut. The main reason I wanted to get my hair cut short was to start afresh with my hair as my hair previously had a lot of bleach damage along with lots of hair dye build-up, so I decided for a new hairstyle and to eventually get my hair back blonde.

I previously heard of Handsome Jacks Barbers in Shawlands, Glasgow by simply walking past it on the way to the gum and also my brother in law. He gets his hair cut their every few months from there and when he does it looks on point so that's how I decided to go give them a try to cut my hair short and start anew.

I was a little nervous phoning because some barbers are gentlemen only but phoning here, they were perfectly polite and more than happy to book me in for a hair appointment.  I got an appointment for the following day. The second time I got a haircut, it was the same day.

When it came to my appointment time I wasn't waiting very long in their very comfortable chesterfield sofa before it was my turn to take my seat in the ever so comfy barber's chair. Alex asked what style i was after and i showed him on my phone and he got to work cutting off my long hair. It sure took some time because my hair is very thick and combined with being long, it took a little bit of time. While he was cutting my hair we had a really good chat about so many things including us both being northern ( both moving to Glasgow) Also recommending some great films and series to watch on Netflix/amazon prime, now I'm addicted to watching Lucifer lol!

The time and detail went into my hair, I wasn't rushed and I was asked if I was 100% happy and to come back if i wasn't happy with anything, I felt very happy with the results and the staff were just wonderful, making the experience so much better.

Below is a picture a few days before I dyed my hair black and while it's long. The next picture is me after I've come home from the barbers, doesn't my hair look fabulous?

I have had my hair cut twice now and honestly, I can say they make the experience so much better as they have lots of things to talk about, know what they are doing when it comes to hair and also the vibes of the place are brilliant too.

I love the decor here as it has retro vibes with a hint of modern style with its movie, skater and bright lighting. The retro side is fab with its drinks, sofa and bits and bobs.

Handsome Jack's has 3 locations in Glasgow. One is in Shawlands another in  Paisley and one I recently went to in which recently opened a couple of weeks ago in Dennistoun

W7 Princess Potion Face Primer Drops

W7 Princess Potion Face Primer Drops
When it comes to primers I still haven't found the 'perfect' primer for me. My skin is combination and I have visible pores, so I want something to smooth my pores and also keep my skin soft. Usually, primers I have tried are too oily or don't make a smooth even base. I have wanted to try Farsali Unicorn Essence which moisturises and primes the skin, but for me, the price point is a bit high.  I decided to look out for a budget-friendly dupe that could possibly be similar to the Unicorn essence.

I found this W7 Princess Potion Face Primer Drops purely by chance while shopping for some cleaning things with my mum in B&M's and this was under £5 if I remember correctly. The bottle looks very similar and the primer drops are also a sparkly pink like unicorn essence.

The W7 Princess Potion Face Primer Drops has an easy to use droplet pipette thing ( totally forgot the name lol). The formulation is perfect; not too runny or thick. It is a lovely pink shimmery primer that looks a bit like a serum, just a touch thicker than many serums I have tried.

I find the primer absorbs quickly into the skin, which is a good thing if you're in a rush to apply makeup. It also is a complexion booster so you can wear this alone for radiant skin or underneath foundation for the perfect base.

The serum is blended with skin-loving hyaluronic acid, rosehip oil, sweet almond oil, aloe, argan oil, grape leaf and chamomille. All of which my skin loves to keep it feeling soft and smooth for makeup-free days or a base for my foundation.

I am not 100% sure if the formula is vegan? But the company itself is cruelty-free. 🐇

I really like this primer, it smooths my skin nicely and gives a nice glowy boost to my complexion but I like using it most before applying my foundation as it really helps keep it in place as it gives a nice smooth base. It has a sweet floral scent which is quite nice and not overpowering at all. A good thing about it is the fragrance didn't irritate my skin at all, so it's definitely up there with one of Meli's go-to products when it comes to primers because having irritated skin because of skincare is no fun at all.

I like to use this after I have cleansed, toned, used a serum/oil then I apply this then my SPF :)

So your probably all wondering whether I still want the Farsali Unicron Essence and the answer is no, thankfully. Its too expensive even though I am sure many love it, I can't justify the price. I am happy with my dupe at just under £10 at a very reasonable £8.95. It works well for me so I will keep that until its finished and then try another haha.

Revolution Forever Flawless Chilled with Cannabis Sativa Palette | Review
My blooming goodness the name of this palette is a mouth full isn't it? LOL

Anyways back to the post, Revolution has grown so much since it came out a few years ago. I have lost track of all their new releases, they seem to be something new every week aha! I have a few of their eyeshadow palettes the last one I purchased is the Revolution Creative Vol 1 palette just before the summer holidays. I didn't check out many of their releases for a few months after that until I saw the  Revolution cannabis Sativa products including this Revolution Forever Flawless Chilled with Sativa palette and I kinda thought to myself ... in makeup now like? but hey I wanted to try them to see if they are worth the hype.

Colourless Hair Colour Remover Max Effect | Review

Recently I went to the barbers to cut my hair into a short faded hairstyle ( this girl got sick of the long, damaged and split ends from over dying and bleaching!) I will tell you more about the barbers I went to in its own post soon because I think it deserves its own limelight as they did such an amazing job of my hair.  After getting my hair cut I decided I wanted to go more of my natural hair colour so that's i decided to use Colourless Hair Colour Remover

Colourless is a hair colour remover and it basically works by shrinking the dye molecule back to its original size. Different factors can affect the results though. This is made by the brand Makeup Revolution! Check out my previous review on Colour B4 here.

Jeffree Star Blue Blood Eyeshadow Palette | Review

Jeffree Star Blue Blood Eyeshadow Palette | Review
I have had my eyes on the Jeffree Star Blue Blood Palette ever since it got released but I have to wait till the perfect moment for it to join my Jeffree Star Blood Sugar Eyeshadow Palette ( till saved up because damn, makeup can be expensive). The Blue Blood Collection has a great variety of icy blue products including highlighter, liquid lipsticks and of course this gorgeous looking eyeshadow palette. So far I have this palette and a highlighter in my collection.

First Impressions
The first thing I noticed was that it got fabulous ice queen vibes with the shape and style of the palette. I would say that 'Blood Sugar' feels more sturdy to hold, not sure how to explain that but it just does. I love the way the palette is designed and how each eyeshadow either has the Jeffree Star logo embossed on it or something else like the shade name, undertaker, for example, has a coffin on it which matches the shade perfectly.
