Setunea Natural Olive Oil Soap | Review

Setunea Natural Olive Oil Soap
If you are a regular reader of my blog you will know my skin can be quite sensitive at times and also can get quite dry. My skincare game has had a big shakeup and now use products that my skin likes. I also try and use more natural products when I can.

I was kindly sent this Olive Oil Soap to try by the generous people at Setunea. They are a very new brand bringing forward a simple product which is cold pressed olive oil, making it into a soap. Cold pressed olive oil has many benefits for your skin.
Setunea Natural Olive Oil Soap
Benefits of Setunea Natural Olive Oil Soap

  • Universal - Can be used on hair to soften the scalp and also reduce conditions like dandruff. It can also be used as a makeup remover as it binds the oils in makeup, making it easier to remove.
  • Suitable for all skin types, even sensitive skin. Can also be used on newborn skin, it's that gentle.
  • Moisturising - Helps keeps skin moisture levels balanced.
  • Antibacterial -  Which essential to keeping skin clear from breakouts
  • Only has 3 ingredients - olive oil food-grade lye (soda) and water.
  • Cured so can last up to 5 months!
  • Organic - Ecocert certified
  • Vegan-friendly
One thing I love about this soap is that it is fragrance-free which is brilliant because I really don't like using strong fragranced soaps anywhere near my face. You get a good size amount of soap for the money too ( taking into account it's sustainably sourced and organic) it reminds me of the lush soaps you get as they are cut roughly adding quirkiness to the product.

I love how soft this feels on the skin, it doesn't irritate the skin but nourishes which is nice. This bar lasted about 2 weeks which isn't bad at all considering I used it every day. I am looking forward to seeing what products they bring out in the future.

How much is it? £7 for a 125g bar

Where can I find out more?

May Beauty Favourites

The weather is getting more sunnier finally this month and they have been so many bank holidays that I have lost count.. thank goodness I keep track with my calendar. It is also Ramadan this month, so May has been a pretty busy month for us.

In last months April Beauty Favourites, it was more based on bright vibrant makeup but this month my favourites are more neutral makeup and skincare oriented. Some of the brands have featured a lot already so far this year because I just love the brands and many of their products are must-haves for me.

Another part of my routine for May has been using a higher SPF since the temperatures are higher and the sun is out for longer. It's an important tip to check skincare SPF to know which temperatures it suits. SPF is an all-around year thing because of no matter what the weather is, it's always important to use an SPF product in daylight to protect against UV rays.
My May Beauty Favourites

Revolution Skin Plumping & Hydrating Serum 2% Hyaluronic Acid
Revolution has upped their skincare game so much since they launched! I love many of their skincare products but this one is my favourite of them at the moment. My skin can get very dehydrated and dry during the warmer months but this serum quenches my skin and hydrates it. Some parts of my skin get quite dry, especially my nose but since using this, it has reduced the amount of dryness, which is a big help as my nose without this looks like its pores are always blocked. This serum is lightweight and I apply this on my skin after cleansing and using a toner but just before using my moisturiser. This can be used in the morning or night time, it is up to you.

Beauty Kitchen SPF 30 Mineral Shield Primer
This is the first SPF primer I have ever tried and has to be one of my favourites for sure. Not only does it have amazing SPF30 protection but it also primes your skin ready for makeup or for leaving it how it is.  I love that this is fragrance-free and that it is also vegetarian-friendly too (contains beeswax).

Anastasia Beverly Hills Blush Trios in Pink Passion
This is the first time I have tried a blush from ABH, and I have to say I am in love! This trio is perfect for me as it has 3 versatile shades perfect for any occasion. My favourite shade in the palette has to be   'Sugar' which is a lovely silky bubble gum pink.

Pixi Glow Mud Mask
Oh my goodness I just love this face mask, its perfect for simulating, clarifying and brightening the skin. The minreal rich mud mask draws out impurities, fights breakouts and also gives an energizing boost to the skin to give a boost to the complexion.  It contains Kaolin & sea salt for purifying and also ginseng & aloe vera to balance.

Jeffree Star Velour liquid lipstick in Coral Fixation
I am a huge Jeffree Star cosmetics fan as the products not only look amazing, but they also work wonderfully well too. I love the coral shade as its vibrant and suits my subtle eye makeup. My biggest reason for adding this again this month is that it's so comfortable to wear and doesn't fade or go dull.

What were your beauty favourites this month?

Take care

Bath time with Irregular Cosmetics

If you are a regular reader of my blog or look at my social media you will know how much I love my baths! Bath products are one of my favourite things to relax with and I have tried many brands over the years including Lush, Bomb Cosmetics, Miss Pattierse - the list goes on.

I usually step into lush and fill my basket with a months worth of lush bath bombs, but I had quite a big change last month when Irregular Cosmetics sent me a box of their bath bombs to try out.

Irregular Cosmetics are a new brand which recently just launched. They sent me the bath bombs eco-friendly packaging and the products themselves are all cruelty-free and vegan-friendly too. All of their ingredients are all listed on their website and also with the bath bombs.

They are also handmade too which is a nice considering how many products out there are now mass produced. I like supporting the smaller business because you know a lot of care and attention has gone into the products.

The bath bombs I tried
  • Keep it sweet - This has a lovely sweet and uplifting scent and is a nice blue, pink and yellow bath art.
  • The purple pause - A bright blend of a purple bath bomb with a lovely scent of lavender and ylang-ylang.
  • No Worries - This one looks like a sunset in the bathtub and my goodness it smells amazing with a blend of amber and sweet orange.
  • A touch of class - Orange on the outside but a burst of blue, orange and yellow on the inside this smells floral.
  • Blue Skies - Looks like lovely dessert with icing drizzled on the top. It has a lovely natural earthy scent to it.
  • Technicolour Dream Bomb - Looks like a sponge but the inside holds a vibrant selection of rainbow colours! Has a lovely juicy fresh scent.
  • Bath art in a bag - This has the most adorable mini bath bombs! They are 21 in the bag and they come in 7 different colours too. Throw a variety in the bath for gorgeous bath art. These have a lovely fresh floral scent to them.

I have to say I am very impressed with all the bath bombs I was kindly sent by Irregular cosmetics! They all gave the most wonderful bath art I have seen in a long time and my goodness they all had a lovely smell to them too. They are also very relaxing and the smells of them make me feel good too which is a good bonus for me.

The prices for these bath bombs start at £5 and they have a lovely selection of bath bombs to choose from. I will be buying from them in future because I know a lot of hard work and care has gone into the brand which shows in the quality of the product. If you want to know more about the brand or want to purchase any bath bomb/s check out their website

Bioglan Beauty Collagen | Review

Collagen... we have all heard of it and my goodness we see a lot of it online and on the high street but what is it?  Well, Collagen is a thing our skin loses over time when we hit our mid twenties (boo!). I am 28 now and I have started to take care of my skin much more than I used too, but I have been thinking that it's about time I look after inside too. I really want to look after my skin, hair and nails as much as I possibly can and that's where the amazing Bioglan Beauty Collagen products come in!

My hair is quite brittle at the ends ( yep it's my own fault from dying so much lol) and I also have quite dull skin sometimes which makes me look tired even when Im not which can be annoying. I have taken multi-vitamins for a few months which are brilliant for overall health but I thought it was about time I used something more specific for hair, skin and nails.
Benefits of Bioglan Beauty Collagen

  • Hydrolysed marine Collagen & Essential Vitamins and Minerals for healthy hair, skin and nails.
  • Biotin & Selenium - These can contribute to the maintenance of normal hair
  • Vitamin C - Contributes to collagen formation
  • Selenium - Contributes to the maintenance of nails
  • Bioglan uses type 1 collagen - This is an abundant form of collagen which is found in the body which helps with hair, skin and nails.
Bioglan has a variety of different products to choose from and I was lucky enough to be sent the gummies, tablets and also the powder. I will give a small review on each below.

These are so delicious and taste like strawberry sweets which makes them a lot easier to eat (thankfully no horrid after taste). It recommends between 2-5 gummies a day and I usually just take 2 gummies with food every day... I actually look forward to them.

This is so easy to add to everyday foods including shakes, soups and even smoothies. You only need one scoop (5g) once a day. It doesn't have any taste so it's easy to have without worrying about it tasting funky.

These taste a lot like multi-vitamins, not brilliant but not awful either. You take 3 of these once a day with a glass of water.
Did they make any difference?
So I have been using mostly the gummies most days while other days alternating with the powder in smoothies and I gotta say I am impressed! They are easy to fit into my routine since they don't have a horrid taste and are easy to swallow. I have noticed a big difference in my skin and my hair is a lot better than it has been. I would say me changing up my diet to a more complex and more healthy range has also contributed to that but I am sure these have helped along the way with a healthy diet and lifestyle.

These start off at £8.99 which is pretty good compared to a lot of hair, skin and nail supplements out there. You can find out more over at

First Impression of Essential Oils | Blended Valley | Competition

Now we all know essential oils aren't a new thing, in fact, the first mention of them being used was way back in the 12th century by an Al-Andalusian Physician, chemist and pharmacist Ibn Al-Baitar.  Ever since then they have been used by many cultures around the world that are even continuing right into the present day.

Essential oils have many helpful and amazing uses including one of my personal favourites Aromatherapy!  Now you may be wondering what the heck is Armotherphy so I will give a quick low down on what it is. It is a form of alternative medicine to help induce relaxation. Now with today's busy lifestyles, relaxation isn't always easy to reach but aromatherapy is a simple way to relax easier and enjoy the time we have to ourselves, we all deserve that right?

Blended Valley has an amazing selection of essential oils to choose from; some for sleep, relaxing and even energy. I chose Attraction & Love because I love fragrances that have the combination of rose and lemon because they are a nice twist. I love having nice fragrances in the background because they can uplift my mood for many things include reading, relaxing or spending time watching a movie.
Blended Valley has premium essential oils that are made in the UK. They are of high quality and they keep their quality as they are in a UV resistant bottle. They have so many uses but they can be therapeutic as well as being good for meditation.

I must say I am not an expert on essential oils so I had to do a little homework on how to use this Love and Attraction oil. You simply follow the instructions on the box and use it with an aromatherapy diffuser, oil burner or vaporiser. I personally used an oil burner that I found for under a fiver at my local Asda store. I used a few drops on the burner and blooming heck the air was filled with the fresh smell of roses and lemon, it's just relaxing and mood uplifting.

Did you know you know that these oils can be used on charms, jewellery or talismans! How fab is that?

So this oil has been used so many times now by myself and I just love how uplifting the smell is. It is a new experience rather than the fragrances of just candles, candles are pretty dull in comparison. I am looking forward to trying more essential oils in the future that's for sure.

Moonpig Fathers Day Event 2019 | Edinburgh

My goodness, I totally forgot the last time I went to a blog event. Its been a couple of years at least because I've been so busy and being a mum, it's not always easy getting babysitters etc. Moonpig contacted me last month about this event which happened last weekend and I knew I had to go because I just love the brand and I have used their website to buy cards and gifts many times before.

I was able to go to the event thanks to my children's uncle whom looked after them for the day while Me and my otherhalf went to Edinburgh for the Moonpig Father's Day event.
The drive to Edinburgh from Glasgow was so relaxing as the sun was shining and the roads were remarkably clear for a Saturday morning...weird. Once we arrived in Edinburgh we parked near the centre ( damn parking is expensive LOL) so we could enjoy the sites before we go to the event.
Once we arrived at the Contini Cannonball Resturant and Bar, we were greeted by the very friendly Moonpig team and also the staff at the restaurant who were alos friendly and gave us a complimentary bubbly prosecco which was divine! Once everyone had arrived for the event the presentation began which was based on the relationship changes between father and child and how this has increased over the past 100 years. Once the heartwarming presentation ended the fun began as we were split into two groups to do three fun-filled activities!

First up, card making!! πŸ—ƒ
The first activity we did was making our own cards which is more fun than it sounds! We had to choose a setting in which you wanted your photo to appear such as being on a cover on a magazine, wanted poster or even in a fancy flash car.  My partner was typical alpha male and chose to be on the cover of an Iron man magazine.  He got his photo taken professionally and he really was in his element with this. The other bloggers and the Moonpig team thought it was brilliant LOL!  We then chose which type of card to upload the photo on and proceeded to checkout, all expenses paid(thank you Moonpig), all in time for fathers day.
Then it was lunch timmmmme!! 🍞🍸
The tables were laid out beautifully and my goodness the food looked spectacular! The food was in a buffet style and the choices on the table were just heavenly that I didn't know what to choose first because my taste buds were tingling at the sheer amount of everything on the table LOL! I tried a bit of everything because most things I had never tried before. The experience definetaly opened up my perseption of different foods. My favourite out of the selection had to be the cheeseboard, my goodness the selection of cheese and crackers was divine and as you saw from the picture above I tried a bit of each cheese, yum!

The drink on the table was a cucumber and elderflower refresher and wow, it was like the taste of summer in a glass. Refreshing, cooling and i really want to make it myself at home.
Then it was time for the next activity... COCKTAIL MAKING! 🍹
The gin masterclass was held by Michael from the wonderful 'Edinburgh Gin'! I have never made any kind of cocktail ever and the most I have done is put some coke in my gin, nothing special LOL! This class was on another level though. We got taught how to make 2 different cocktails, everything we needed was provided for us all to make with our dads/plus 1. I definetaly had some James Bond vibes going on shaking the cocktail shaker with the ice, it was brilliant and I had no idea making cocktails were so technical but we all made some wonderful cocktails. The first drink we made was the rhubarb and ginger high ball, this was my favourite of the 2 drinks that we made. ThePerthshiree negroni we made looked amazing but DAMN that stuff was way too powerful and strong for me.

Next up was the food masterclass... πŸ§€πŸš

The first we did was something I have never done before and that was oyster shucking ( I have never tried oysters either) The masterclass was held by Andy from Contini Cannonball Resturant. Oyster shucking is something I have never done so I skipped this one but I did try an oyster, it tasted like the sea which was quite refreshing.

I needed a loo for the next bit but he taught how to cook slice and cook scallops in lemon juice. When  I came back he taught us all how to make a cheeseboard with a variety of different cheeses, fruit and nuts to give all the cheeses a different taste rather than having just a  cheese taste in your mouth. The variety of all 3 gives your taste buds more flavours to work with.

After that amazing class it was time to go home, Noooo! we got a hamper to take home which was very generous of Moonpig. Everyone had a lovely time and it was one of my favourite events I have attended so far, but not the last!
Want to plan out your fathers day card and gift? Check out Moonpigs website in which they offer an amazing selection of fathers day cards and amazing choices of Father's Day Gifts too! Cards can be customised and they have a fab selection gifts including hampers, food and grooming gifts.

Get Glowing Gorgeous! PIXI Glow Collection

Skincare over the past couple of years has become much more important to me. My skin needs all the attention it can get as I am starting to get fine lines as well as my skin having some discolouration and dryness. I have changed up my skincare routine a lot over the past few months and included SPF products into the mix too. I kindly got sent the Pixi Glow Collection to try and my goodness I was so excited to give it a try.

The Pixi Glow Collection is inspired by their holy grail product which I am sure we all know and that's the original glow tonic. They are 5 products in the range and they are perfect for use in a routine in the morning or evening.
The Glow Collection

Glow Tonic Cleansing Gel
This moisturises, exfoliates with glycolic acid and also contains aloe vera which soothes the skin. Simply use of wet skin and use about a coin size amount and in circular motions apply to the skin, I like to use this with the PMD Clean as it gives a deeper cleanse. You wash it off with warm water. I like using cleansers while in the shower as for me it saves time.

Glow Tonic
Prices from £5
This contains 5% glycolic acid which exfoliates the skin, Ginseng which energizes and also aloe vera which helps to soothe the skin. You drench a cotton round with the tonic and apply across the face and neck. Its the first time I have tried this product and OMG I am in love!

Glow Tonic Serum
Like the above, it contains glycolic acid, aloe vera and ginseng. You massage 2-3 drops onto freshly cleansed skin and toned skin before you apply moisturiser. Since this is a serum I like to use these every other day as they are a skin treat.

pHenomenal Gel
Now I must have wrestling on the brain because the first thing I thought of opening this was the phenomenal AJ Style LOL! This contains horse chestnut which hydrates and smoothes the skin. it also has like the others aloe vera that soothes and also citric acid which balances and brightens. You use this after cleansing and toning the skin or after serum depending on the day or if you use a serum or not.

I have to say I love the design of this and it's a first I've seen of such a thing. On-the-Glow contains vitamin D2 which protects and brightens, ginseng which energizes and like the main core of this collection it contains the hero of these prodcuts- Gylcolic acid. This product has so many uses that i will have to give this prodcuts its own blog post.
I have used these products for the past couple of weeks and I have to say I am so impressed with PIXI skincare range. I knew their Glow Tonic was popular and has been hyped about by so many bloggers and beauty enthusiasts alike. I have to say it works wonders on my skin as its perfect at energizes my tired skin, exfoliating for the perfect base for my moisturiser and also so soothing which is a lovely bonus. My skin feels so much more hydrated now and I have to say the routine of these products has definatly improved my overall complexion. I will be posting more about these in upcoming posts and will also be updating this one in the near future.

Makeup Revolution Re-Loaded Iconic Division | Review

Hello Lovelies!
I have to admit I am a huge fan of eyeshadow palettes and I definatly have my fair share of eyeshadow palettes. I saw this Makeup Revolution Re-Loaded Iconic Division palette last month in Superdrug and as soon as I saw it I knew I had to buy it and it went right in my basket. I have a good selection of makeup revolution products so I had high expectations of this palette because at the moment they are just out of this world with the makeup they are bringing out. I have a few of their eyeshadow palettes in my collection but they are more vibrant than this palette so this is a complete change for me.
I love the colour selection in the palette and it kinda reminds me of the ABH Subculture Palette and if you look at the eyeshadow palettes side by side then you would see quite a resemblance. Inside the palette, it has 15 eyeshadows with a mixture of shimmer and matte shades. The colours themselves are quite earthy such as shades like mustard, deep green and nudes.

The eyeshadow palette itself costs a bargain price of £4! I think that price is amazing considering the price of makeup now ( omg some prices of brands make me want to cry LOL). The price of each eyeshadow is roughly about 27p each which is a bargain dont you think? All of the Makeup Revolution eyeshadow palettes are very budget friendly and the most expensive being a palette being £15, they are so many palettes to choose from too, you are spoiled for choice.
makeup revolution reloaded iconic division review
The packaging isn't anything special, just a very basic plastic palette with a see-through lid to see the shades inside. The eyeshadows I must admit are displayed quite nicely and they are also a decent size too, as you can see in the above photo. Only 3 of the eyeshadows in the palette are shimmer and the rest are matte ( I was kinda hoping for at least 5 shimmers ).

Now when I swatched the eyeshadows I did find that most of them were highly pigmented but some did feel a little chalky which has to be expected considering the price of the palette. I would love to say they all blend perfectly but I can't say that because some of the shades in the palette took a lot of elbow grease to get the way I wanted them to look, I would honestly suggest using a primer and concealer which these eyeshadows as they are easier to work with that way.
swatches of makeup revolution reloaded iconic division
The eyeshadows in the Re-Loaded Iconic don't have any names with the individual eyeshadows like the other £4 eyeshadows such as the Re-Loaded Newtrals 2 Palette.

As I said above most of the shades in the palette are very pigmented and applying them is generally quite easy but some are a little chalky so a firmer brush opposed to a soft brush would work best for this palette. I also noticed that sometimes some of the shades especially the dark green and reds can be very patchy applying so a good primer would sort that right out.

I have a handy youtube video on me swatching the Re-Loaded Iconic Division palette and also creating a makeup look with the palette is also over on my channel, click on the following link to find the video or click the video below.

Would mean a lot if you could subscribe to my channel πŸ’•

Gluten Free

  • Budget friendly at £4
  • 15 Shades
  • Similar to Anastasia Beverly Hills Subculture Palette
  • Travel-friendly
  • Versatile shades
  • Many of the shadows are highly pigmented
  • Long lasting teamed with an eyeshadow primer and makeup setting spray
  • Some of the shades are very patchy, take a lot of work to use
  • Packaging feels cheap
  • No Mirror, so take a compact if taking this on holiday
  • No applicator
  • Not brilliant using as a lone product, needs a primer and setting spray or can fade or look patchy very easily.
Below is a look I like creating with this palette, I think the shades I choose really to work wonderfully together. For the mint green to pop more I used a mint green on the inner eye followed by the dark emerald green on the outer corner with the mustard yellow to outline.

Overall its a wonderful palette for the price, it maybe a little chalky but nothing terrible or to complain too much about considering the price. The shimmers in the palette worked best in the palette but the mattes are quite good too. I think it's very similar to Subculture which is good because I love the look of that palette.
