Jeffree Star Cosmetics Mini Breaker | Review

Jeffree Star Cosmetics Mini Jawbreaker | Review
I have been so excited to try the new Jeffree Star Jawbreaker Collection! I managed to get myself the Mini Breaker palette and also liquid lipstick in the shade Yes Ma'am! I will probably get the larger palette eventually but today I will be reviewing and telling you all my thoughts on this mini Breaker Eyeshadow Palette.

The Jeffree Star Mini Jawbreaker palette cost me £25 from Beauty Bay. It contains 9 shades; 2 being from the main Jawbreaker palette and 7 brand new hues. The eyeshadows are a mix of metallic and matte pigments.

The packaging isn't like the Blood Sugar palette which is absolutely stunning but I can't complain about this palette really. I love the green packaging the palette comes in ( its nice sturdy box to keep the palette in too) The actual palette itself has a lovely Jawbreaker colourful splatter design on the outer side of the palette and also inside too. The eyeshadows themselves have the usual Jeffree Star cosmetics logo embossed on them which is lovely.

Even though it is a small palette it sure has lovely selection eyeshadows. It also has a decent size mirror so it's an ideal size palette to travel with.

The eyeshadows have been swatched on my arm below in the last picture as you can see, I didn't use a primer as I want to show them in their true form. I have to save I am very impressed with them all, especially the purple shades, they are just a delight to work together with. I had no trouble at all blending them together and combining them was simple enough without much fallout at all.

  • The palette contains the following
  • Double Scoop – a terracotta nude matte.
  • Orange Crush – a matte orange with gold reflects.
  • Foreplay – a pinky purple matte.
  • Oral – a duo chrome with lilac reflects.
  • Purple Punch – a bright purple matte.
  • Slice – an orangey-yellow metallic.
  • Bubble Gum – a bubble gum pink matte.
  • Bite Me – a deep, rich purple metallic.
  • Hot Fudge – a dark cool-toned brown.
  • Vegan & Cruelty-Free
Here is a little look I created using the mini Jawbreaker palette. I used the pigments; Bubble Gum, Purple Punch & Oral. I also used purple liquid lipstick as an eyeshadow to complete the look.

This palette didn't sell out on Beauty Bay like the usual palettes do when they first get released. I am quite surprised at that because I just love this palette for so many reasons. The first reason I love the palette that each pigment in the palette dint disappoint at all, they are were bold and vibrant and didn't leave lots fallout while applying. The metallics were very shimmery and looked different in different types of light which is a nice effect. The mattes are brilliant and can easily be blended with metallic shades.

It has 2 shades inside the palette which are also in the larger Jawbreaker palette ( Bubble Gum & Bite Me). The other 7 are completely different but in my own personal opinion I think they should all be different since its a different palette, but you know I am sure many will like the idea.

Now one of the best things for me has to be the staying power of these eyeshadows, they look bright and vibrant all day long without fading.

I really love this palette and I am pleased that I bought it. I am very tempted to buy the larger version now since this one is absolutely STUNNING!

Pin Me for Later?

So is it worth the money?  I would say so! None of the pigments let me down and they all lasted all day even without makeup setting spray which I have forgotten to use sometimes. I love the design of the palette and it does feel sturdy and looks pretty amazing to display too.

Makeup Revolution Creative Vol 1 Palette | Review

Makeup Revolution Creative Vol 1 Palette | Review
Hi everyone!
If you have read my blog before you will know I am a huge fan of bold and bright lipsticks and eyeshadow palettes. I knew I had to have this palette when I spotted it in Superdrug when I was looking for a palette I wanted but was sold out, this one stood out. One thing that made me want to buy it was the outer packaging, it stood out as usually makeup revolution palettes are simply designed but this, on the other hand, has a lovely peacock design on it.

Makeup Revolution is an amazing cruelty-free and super budget-friendly brand. They have so much makeup and skincare products it's actually mind-blowing.  I have lost track of how many eyeshadow palettes they actually have now. The creative Vol 1 palette has 24 colours in the palette and it cost me a cool £10 Superdrug.

The outer packaging is lovely with the vibrant peacock design on it... but it doesn't stop there, oh no! The actual palette itself has the beautiful peacock design on it too, which I just love! Its made of plastic and the inside of the palette it has a very considerate sized mirror in it, so its the perfect go-to palette if you are travelling and want a vibrant palette to take with you.

For £10 for 24 eyeshadows I can't complain about the palette because it's nicely-designed even though the eyeshadows themselves are smaller than expected but still a generous size considering you do get 24 in the palette.

The shades are a mix of shimmer and mattes and the colours are from warm bronzes to canary yellow to a gorgeous fuschia pink. I think the look they are going for shades that are peacock inspired. I honestly don't see so many peacock vibes in the palette as I thought they would have been some greens in the palette but unfortunately, they isn't any but saying that I do like the shade range inside creative vol 1. I just would have been ecstatic if they were some variety of greens too like a peacock you know?

You can create a variety of different looks with this palette from everyday makeup to super glam. I created a look above with a few of the shades in the palette and they are as follows; Prize, Inspired, Quirky, Colour and Trendsetter.

I do think the eyeshadows work much better with a concealer/primer because for me I do think they require a lot of building them up ( well apart from the shimmers, they were fine without as you can see from the swatch above) I thought it was also worth mentioning that the eyeshadows when you use an eyeshadow brush on the palette, the pan actually have a bit of fallout, nothing major but a little more than usual that's for sure.

My thoughts
I wouldn't say it my all-time favourite palette but I do think it's well worth the £10. The mattes can take a lot of work to build up but the shimmers are pretty effortless. I do like the fact that the shades are very easy to blend together so that's big plus right?

The design of the palette is just flawless and it has to be my favourite designed palette by makeup revolution yet! Now even though the eyeshadows were a bit fallout It hasn't put me off at all purchasing another makeup revolution palette in the future.

My Favourite Summer Lip Products

summer lip products
Hello everyone!
Summer is finally here, yay! Even though part of me ( probs my part vampire side) is thinking its too hot and bright LOL! Anyways might as well enjoy the lovely weather while it's here because hot and sunny days are are too far and in between arent they?

Anyways in the summer, I like to change up my skincare and makeup routine and that includes the products I use. I usually like wearing bright or nude lipsticks. And I like to prep my lips and keeping them soft and avoid at all costs of having them drying out in the hot summers sun. I have listed below products I like to use and also the favourites that I am loving at the moment.
favourite summer lip products
LIP SCRUB
Lip scrubs gently smooth and hydrate the lips, creating a smooth base for lipsticks. They also usually have a blend of oils to keep lips soft and hydrated. My favourite has to be the Lush lip scrubs, they have so many flavours to choose from, you will be spoiled for choice.

LIP & CHEEK TINT
These are fab because they are perfect for lips and cheeks for when you want a sweet, healthy and flush of colour. They are simple to apply, even though they can look a bit intimating with how bright they look in the bottle. They can last up to 10 hours which is fab don't you think? I love the Lip & Cheek Jam from Trifle Cosmetics at the moment. It gives a lovely natural glow and its 99% natural.

MULTI-PURPOSE BALM
Sometimes its best to have a multi-purpose balm with you. Multitask balms are brilliant because not only can you use them on your lips to hydrate them but they can be used on sunburn, skin irritations and also a hair conditioning treatment. I really like Dr PawPaw original clear balm as its a handy travel size and comes in so many varieties too.

LIPGLOSS
This year I have started to use lipgloss so much more than ever before! I like to use them on top of lipsticks or even on their own. Lipgloss looks amazing in the summer sunshine as its shimmers and sparkles and I just love that. I am a huge fan of the Hank & Henry Lip Lustre Gloss as it's packed with glitter, smells amazing like mint and its also formulated with vitamin E and honeysuckle extract to keeps lips soft and hydrated.

👇Now depending on my mood, it's a flip of which one Il wear 👇

BRIGHT LIPSTICKS
Now they were a time when all I wore was bright and red lipsticks. Now it's usually just brights or nudes. I like to wear vibrant eye makeup and bright lips just compliments the looks I make. Even with just liner bright lipstick are one of my favourites in summer. I love Jeffree Star's liquid lipstick in Coral Fixation which is a bright orange lipstick which isn't a shade I thought I would of suited but so glad I got, I love it!

NUDE LIPSTICKS
I like wearing nude lipsticks when I just want a subtle makeup look. Funny thing is I have only started to wear nude lipsticks recently because I had a hard time finding ones I like, thankfully I have a few favourites now. I like a fair few but Model Co matte lip cream in Peachy is a favourite at the moment as its a lovely subtle nude, it smells nice and it's long-lasting.
summer lip products
I hope you all enjoyed this post. Its been a while but I am glad to be posting more often now. I will be posting more summer content hopefully in the next upcoming few days and weeks. Any suggestions to what I should post are very welcome in the comment section below.

Making Delicious Gluten-Free Protein Pancakes with Muscle Moose!

Making Delicious Gluten-Free Protein Pancakes with Muscle Moose!
Pancakes are one of my go-to breakfast or dessert choices! I love how versatile they can be and the amount of variations you can create seems to be endless! My favourite at the moment has to be pancakes with strawberries, the skinny food co maple syrup and chocoholic hazelnut spread, just heaven.. mmmm!

When it comes to foods that have protein added in them sometimes they can be a bit thick to eat and for me, I am not a fan of but with these pancakes they are fluffy and delicious which is a treat.

These pancakes come in 2 different flavours; Golden Syrup and also Chocolate raspberry. I was kindly sent the Golden Syrup to try.
Making Delicious Gluten-Free Protein Pancakes with Muscle Moose!
Ingredients
Protein Blend: (Whey Protein Concentrate (MILK), Pea Protein, Egg Albumin, Gluten-Free Oat Flour, Modified Starch, Inulin, Flavourings, Acidity Regulator: Sodium Bicarbonate, Sweetener: (Sucralose)

Vegetarian-friendly
  • Gluten-Free: Yes.
  • Allergen Warnings: Milk. Egg.

Mixing Instructions
Simply mix 50g ( 2 scoops) to 75 of water ( I like to use almond or oat milk as is makes it much more creamy) then simply mix/whisk together. This amount is enough to make 2 generous size pancakes. 2 Pancakes is about 194 calories.

My Favourite Pancake toppings!
Now the number of pancake toppings is never-ending I thought it would be best to keep it short and sweet and just tell you guys some of my favourites!
First up I like maple syrup, banana, strawberries with egg! Another combination I adore has to be Nutella with crushed nuts such as almonds or pistachios.

My thoughts
I am one of those people who likes having a choice for breakfast like honestly, I couldn't have the same breakfast every day. Somedays I would want cereal, toast or other pancakes. I know these are based as breakfast and I do enjoy them as a breakfast but I do like them as a treat with my fav toppings.

The instructions were simple enough and making them is quite fun and uncomplicated to do. You get 26.2g of protein per 2 pancakes which is pretty amazing if you ask me! I would definitely buy these again!

How much are Muscle Moose pancakes?
They cost £14.99. Which works out at 10 portions of 2 pancakes in the 500g bag. Which works out at just under £1.50 per portion.

Where can I buy Muscle Moose products?
They are widely available in many Asda stores but they are also available to buy online including their own website here.

Thanks for reading!

BRGR : Review

BRGR : Review
I must admit I am a huge burger fan, especially during the summer months. BRGR is not a new place to eat for me my as a lot of my family have ordered from here but me being me I wasn't keen on the veggie options at that time. The menu has changed quite a bit since then and they now have plenty of vegan & vegetarian-friendly options.

They are four BRGR locations in Scotland, three of them being in Glasgow. I chose the one in Giffnock because that delivers near to where I live. They also have seats inside so you can have a meal there if you prefer.

Before I started the post I will add that I paid for this meal myself.
BRGR : Review vegan
Vegan & Vegetarian options at BRGR

  • Cluck-less spicy piece - same as above but spicy and with buffalo sauce.

  • Cluck-less Nuggets (6) Nuggets of cluck-free chicken in a golden batter
  • Fries or sweet potato fries.

BRGR Review
I am a bit sceptical when it comes to veggie burgers because I have tried so many bad ones in the past I was a little bit nervous to try this one. Now I know lots of people. like burgers that are just mashed vegetables but for me I prefer a more burger tasting burger rather than a burger that falls to bits easily or is bland. I am happy to say this is one of the best vegan burgers I have ever tried!

The sweet potato fries had a generous size portion and they tasted like a low spice peri-peri flavour which was rather nice. The moo-less burger with cheese was just heavenly, it was amazing and I savoured every mouthful. The burger patty was thick and had a nice chew to it. The BRGR sauce, onions and lettuce complimented it perfectly. I actually ate it super slowly to enjoy every moment LOL!

I would suggest visiting the restaurant rather than ordering online though. It costs way more to order online plus the delivery costs to make the cost of this a bit ridiculous for a takeaway. Next time I am going to a BRGR.

Save for later?

Until next time
Melissa
